As Christians, we are called to serve others, both in our own community and around the world.
Dinner At Your Door Elim members deliver meals to the elderly, permanently or temporarily disabled, and the homebound. Drivers volunteer once or twice per month for 1-2 hours, delivering meals from North Memorial Medical Center, Ambassador Nursing Home or Crystal Community Center.
Families Moving Forward This is an interfaith hospitality network serving homeless families. Robbinsdale United Church of Christ has the established program and Elim members provide evening meals, lunches for the next day and activities for the children after dinner.
Leisure Age Supported by 12 local churches, Leisure Age is a program designed especially for senior citizens. It meets each Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until approximately 2:00 p.m. for fellowship, lunch and entertainment. The cost for lunch is $8 and reservations are required each week. Call (763) 537-1171 between 9:00 a.m. and noon on Monday for reservations. Free blood pressure checks are available on the third Thursday of each month.
NEAR Elim supports North-suburban Emergency Assistance Response (NEAR) through financial gifts, non-perishable food donations, school supplies and Christmas gifts. NEAR provides emergency assistance and a food shelf to clients in the northwest suburban area. The phone number is (763) 533-2836.
Global Missions Elim’s mission includes Sharing the Gospel--not just here but throughout the world. Elim supports several Global Mission projects including the Cox family (Doug, Monica, Benjamin and Jeremiah), who serve as missionsaries in Madagascar working with Project Shalom.
